Milana Sarukhanian is a London-based Ukrainian soprano, voice teacher and founder of ‘DNA Music Festival'. Career highlights include appearances at the Royal Festival Hall under the baton of Semyon Bychkov and debuting in the role of Micaëla in in Carmen at the Palau De La Música Catalana in Barcelona. MIlana graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied Opera, Russian Art Song and Contemporary Classical Music.Milana's later branched out into contemporary and experimental music, as well as improvisation. She collaborated with multi-media artist Dawoon Kim creating a soundtrack based on operatic material for her video instillation ‘Serenade”. MIlana has also worked with composer Bernardo Simões and electronic sound producer Danielius Daubauras. In 2021, Milana became a member of the contemporary vocal ensemble CoMA and a voice teacher at London Institute of Contemporary Performance.
At the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Milana's family were forced to leave the country and leave everything behind. In 2022 Milana and her colleague Christoph Götzen organised two weeks of workshops on free improvisation sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf (Germany). The workshop was based on Milana's concept ‘The Artists is Present 2.0: Musical Response' which was presented at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Drama and The Institute of Contemporary Performance in London.

 

Julian Gallant is a pianist, conductor and composer, and an elected Councillor in the London Borough of Ealing. He founded and conducted the Russian Orchestra of London in which role he worked with major soloists such as Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Janine Jansen and Peter Donohoe and premiered works by leading contemporary composers Rodion Shchedrin, Sir John Tavener and Naresh Sohal. Julian Gallant has conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in concert and in many recording sessions. He has also worked with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Novaya Rossiya Orchestra (invited by Maestro Yuri Bashmet) and Russian Philharmonic Orchestra. Developing a keen parallel interest in opera, he has also conducted new and traditional productions at Helikon Opera (Moscow), the Novosibirsk State Opera, Kazakh State Opera and Georgian State Opera. On the piano, he's had the privilege of accompanying the great Russian baritone Sergei Leiferkus and sopranos Marina Poplavskaya, Tatiana Pavlovskaya, Julia Gertsina and Diana Lamar. Julian composes and arranges music for use around the world and is often to be found conducting recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London.
