The Architectural History of St Mary's Perivale
- a lecture by
Dermot Doughty
St Mary's Perivale has a long history dating back probably to the 12 th century. This lecture will seek to show both ‘how' and ‘why' the church building has evolved over the last 800 years. All ancient buildings are manifestations of ‘past human beings' and are worth studying in order to understand these communities and how have changed over time.
Dermot Doughty has lived in Ealing for the last 25 years and has recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Architectural History at the University of Oxford. He will present his recent studies on St Mary's Perivale in this illustrated talk. It will be a fascinating evening. We will serve drinks and nibbles afterwards.
