St Mary's Perivale: a short illustrated history
|
This new booklet is now available, price £8.00.
The ancient church served the small, isolated hamlet of Perivale until the 1970s, when it became redundant but it has found a new and flourishing role as a highly successful classical music venue.
Hugh Mather recounts its history and reveals features of the church including the ‘leper window', the ‘weeping chancel' and the Myllet brass. He describes the many monuments visible both inside the church and in the churchyard and provides brief biographies of the incumbents and some of the important families with links to the church.
The book is lavishly illustrated, with 56 A4 pages in full colour throughout. It is on sale for £8, and all proceeds go to the Friends of St Mary's Perivale.
