Masa Tayama (piano) studied in Tokyo , and subsequently at the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School , with Benjamin Kaplan and John O'Conor among others. He gained first prize in the Takahiro Sonada International Piano Competition and in the Brant Birmingham International Piano Competition. He has given many concerts in UK , Europe and Japan . He has recorded Rachmaninov sonatas in Japan , and will be recording the Etude-Tableaux shortly.
Benjamin Wragg (violin) studied at the Royal Academy of Music and at the Mozarteum, Salzburg with the legendary violinist Ruggiero Ricci. He has established himself as one of the UK 's most promising young violinists, and has performed throughout Europe and Asia . He won the Making Music Young Concert Artist Award, and the Concordia Foundation Award, amongst many others. He has recently recorded Ravel and Shostakovich with the Ibuki trio and Elgar with the Kinesis Ensemble. He is also building a reputation as a fine teacher at the Junior Department at the Royal Academy of Music.
Kan Tomita (piano) is from Japan , and made his concerto debut at the Royal Festival Hall at the age of 15. He became the first Japanese musician to be awarded the Parnell Pianist in Association Junior Fellowship at the Royal College of Music. He has been active as both soloist and chamber musician performing in the UK , Europe and Japan , and future engagements include a tour of Japan later this year, as well as performances with his wife as the Tomita Piano Duo, and as the pianist of the Ibuki trio and Kinesis ensemble.
