Violinist Lana Trotovsek was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to a family of musicians. When she was 17 years old, her talent was recognised by Ruggiero Ricci who mentored her at the Academy Mozarteum in Salzburg. She continued her studies at Trinity College of Music and at the Royal College of Music, winning many international prizes. She was a member of the Greenwich Piano Trio from 2006 to 2011. The ensemble won the Solti Foundation Award, The Tunnell Trust Award and other first prizes in chamber music competitions across Europe. From 2011-13, she led the Badke String Quartet, winners of the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. Since her debut in 2012 with Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev, she has appeared with some of the world's finest orchestras. In 2014, she toured with the Moscow Soloists and Yuri Bashmet and in 2016 she performed Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No.1 with the London Symphony Orchestra under Gianandrea Noseda. She lives in London and is a Professor at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She maintains close ties to her home country where she performs regularly and is a visiting assistant Professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. She plays the 1750 Pietro Antonio dalla Costa violin.

Maria Canyigueral studied at the Conservatori del Liceu, Barcelona and in Brussels and Madrid. She completed a Master in Performance course at the Royal Academy of Music, receiving the Dorothy Bryant Award in recognition of her outstanding achievements in 2013. She was a prize winner in numerous international competitions such as the International Chamber Music Competition “Antón García Abril” together with cellist Alexander Rolton; the “Max Pirani Piano Trio” Prize with Ianthe Ensemble; the “Wilfrid Parry Prize” together with violinist Marisol Lee; finalist at the 12th Concours international de piano d'Ille de France. Recent highlights include the world premiere of “Dos páginas para Granados” by Benet Casablancas at the Echoes Festival in London organized by ILAMS; her latest Cd together with violinist Lana Trotovsek is a selected Gold Medal winner of the Global Music Awards 2016 in California; further engagements in Belgium, Spain, Japan and the UK. In June 2018 she premiered her project 'Avant-guarding Mompou'- a tribute to the cycle of Cançons i danses by Frederic Mompou which includes the commission of a new cycle of pieces written by nine recognised composers from different parts of Europe.
