Domonkos Casbay 's musical world has its roots in the rich traditions of his hometown Budapest, where he was educated at the Liszt Academy and was a former winner of the Leó Weiner Sonata Competition. In the last two years, besides winning first prize in the Brant International Piano Competition, he has given successful solo recitals at the Lichfield Festival, Birmingham Town Hall and London's Milton Court. He made concerto appearances with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, Kew Sinfonia and Oxford Sinfonia. He has also appeared as a pre-concert showcase performer in concerts by the CBSO and Paul Lewis. He made his debut on BBC Radio 3 in 2018, broadcasting the Eroica Variations . Domonkos studied with Pascal Nemirovski and John Thwaites at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and has recently completed an Advanced Performance Diploma in répétiteurship at RBC where his tutors were Paul Wingfield and Robin Bowman.

Malcolm Troup, whose 90th birthday we are celebrating in this special Beethoven Piano Society tribute, has had a distinguished and far-reaching career as virtuoso pianist, academic and music administrator. He was awarded the Harriet Cohen Medal in 1955. His many appointments include Music Director of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Professor and Chairman of the Music Department at City University London. He was elected as Chairman of BPSE in 1993, serving till his retirement in 2014.
