Pavel Timofeyevsky was born in Moscow, and won a scholarship to the Purcell School , and subsequently studied at the Royal Academy of Music, from where he graduated with distinction. He has won several awards and national competitions, and performed at prestigious venues in London and across the UK , and throughout Europe, as well as in Moscow and Petersburg . Concert tours, along with television and radio appearances in other parts of the world include Russia, France, Spain, Sweden, Greece, Cyprus, South Africa and India. Pavel is the recipient of several prestigious British music awards, scholarships and national competition prizes: these include the Musicians Benevolent Fund Award, the 2007 Myra Hess Award, and the Philharmonia Orchestra Martin Musical Scholarship for piano, as well as winning the BBC/Guardian Young Composer of the Year award for composition. He was selected to become 2011 Recommended Artist by the Making Music Young Concert Artist Awards. Recent activities include debut solo recitals in the USA and Italy, as well a a tour of China, and solo concerts next season include recital tours of Switzerland and Kenya as well as return to the USA.
