Mengyang Pan was born in China, and studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, at the Purcell School and at the Royal College of Music, where she won the Hopkinson Gold Medal, played a concerto in the RCM 125th anniversary concert and was awarded the Tagore Gold Medal, for outstanding representation of the RCM. She has won many awards include 2nd prize at the prestigious Concorso Rina Sala Gallo in Italy 2012, 1st Prize at the 2010 Bromsgrove International Young Musicians Platform, 1 st prize in the Brant International competition and 2nd Prize at the Dudley International Piano Competition. She was also awarded the Second Stage Award at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2009. She regularly performs in some of the most prestigious concert halls throughout the UK such as the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, The National Gallery, St John's Smith Square and Bridgewater Hall in Manchest
