Colin Stone won the Royal Over-Seas League Piano Competition in 1986, following which he made his Wigmore Hall debut. He has performed widely both in the UK and abroad, and broadcast regularly on Radio 3. He has recorded several highly regarded CDs. He has a particular affinity with the music of Shostakovich, and during the 2006 centenary year, he performed at Cadogan Hall a single recital of all 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87, a work that he has since recorded. He is also a member of the London Mozart Trio, which has a high reputation and has made several important CDs. Spring 2016 sees Colin making a return visit with his wife, Mayumi Iida, to Tokyo's Bunka Kaikan for a concert including two of Schubert's great Fantasies; the duet in F minor D.940 and the Wanderer Fantasy D.760. Colin is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
