Their musical studies began at the age of nine, and within a year they won 3rd prize at the 7th International Konzerteum piano competition in Athens. They have won many further awards, including 1st prize in various Greek competitions, selection as 'Young Greek Soloists 2011' by the Athens Symphony Orchestra, 3rd prize and bronze medal at Unesco music competition and most recently 3rd prize in the 2016 C.V Alkan-P.J.G Zimmerman International competition. They have performed over 50 recitals playing solo, four hands and two pianos at major venues and international music festivals throughout Europe. They are currently studying in London with Christopher Elton. Several distinguished Greek composers have written works for them, and they enjoy regular invitations from radio and television where their recordings ('Romantic Collection' 2012 and 'Classic Adventure-Live in UK' 2015) are played. They have also represented Crete abroad on commemorative occasions. In addition to their musical achievements, they have impressive academic credentials. Marianna has a MBBS Hons (1st) in Medicine from the University of Crete, a MSc in Performing Arts Medicine at the University College London and is undertaking a Ph D in Neuroscience at Imperial College London. Stephanie has a BSc Hons (1st) in Biology from the University of Crete and a MSc from the University of Oxford, where she is undergoing a PhD in Zoology.

The Amatis Piano Trio was founded in Amsterdam in 2014 by German violinist Lea Hausmann, British cellist Samuel Shepherd and Dutch/Chinese pianist Mengjie Han. They won the 2015 Parkhouse Award at Wigmore Hall and the Joseph Joachim International Chamber Music Competition top trio prize, and are rapidly establishing themselves as a leading piano trio in Europe. Highlights of last season include concerts at Wigmore Hall, Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Beethoven-Haus Bonn. They have performed extensively throughout Europe, concertising in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Portugal, France, Indonesia and Hong Kong. In 2015 they became the youngest finalists of the International Chamber Music Competition ‘Schubert und die Musik der Moderne' in Graz, Austria and shortly after were named ‘Dutch Classical Talent 2015/16'. In 2014 the trio was invited to the prestigious Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy (Norway). The Amatis Piano Trio have been part of the European Chamber Music Academy since 2015.
