The Klee Quartet was formed in 2008 by the current members, Naoko Senda, Emi Otogao, Jun Ohta and Ruri Kuroda at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. After studies in Japan, they continued further chamber music studies in Berlin, and are now based at the Birmingham Conservatoire. They have been invited to perform in festivals such as Festival International der Quatuors à Cordes du Lubéron, Orlando Festival and have participated in masterclasses such as Internationale Sommerakademie für Kammermusik Niedersachsen, International Mendelssohn Summer School and Festival, Internationale Konzertarbeitswochen Goslar and Proquartet Academy. In 2014 and 2015 they performed works by Erwin Schulhoff and Brigitte Schiffer at the Konzerthaus Berlin with ‘Musica Reanimata', an organisation dedicated to rediscovering music destroyed during the Second World War, both of which were broadcast by the Deutschlandfunk. The quartet has been awarded First Prize and Prize for Best Performance of the Set Work at the Richard Carne Intercollegiate Competition, at the Royal Greenwich International String Quartet Festival 2015.

Zhivko Georgiev is a recent graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire and is now as a freelance chamber musician and orchestral player, working regularly with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, BBC National orchestra of Walse and Orchestra of the Swan. Zhivko shares great passion for chamber music and is currently involved with various chamber music ensembles. Anna Barsegjana was educated at the Latvian Academy of Music and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Anna is a very active and passionate chamber and orchestral musician, and has played throughout Europe. in Denmark, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Hungary, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Lucy French is from Leamington Spa, and graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a First Class Honours. Whilst at the Conservatoire she led the symphony and repertoire orchestras and representing the college in chamber music competitions with the Arcus piano trio. She begins a Masters degree at the Guildhall school of Music and Drama in September 2016. Romanian pianist Arthur Bocaneanu completed his undergraduate studies in Bucharest and is now studying  at Birmingham Conservatoire for a master's degree. He has performed widely in Romania and elsewhere as a solo pianist, appearing as a soloist with several orchestras and being broadcast on national radio and television. Arthur's love for chamber music has led to participation in many successful ensembles. His Arcus Trio was recently chosen as an ensemble-in-residence at the Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival.
