The Chagall Piano Quartet are an exciting young chamber group based in London, dedicated to exploring the rich and varied repertoire for this combination. Praised for their 'imaginative and demanding' programmes, they combine well-known works with rarely performed gems. The Quartet are establishing themselves for their sharp attention to detail alongside their energetic and lyrical interpretations. Having begun collaborating in 2011 as the Heron Piano Quartet, members Katarzyna Ziminska (violin), Emily Hester (viola), Alice Purton (cello) and Abigail Sin (piano) are all much in demand as chamber musicians and have performed in major concert halls across Europe and Asia. As individual performers, they bring a wide range of musical experience to the quartet, from classical improvisation to contemporary music. The group have worked closely with many outstanding coaches including members of the Belcea Quartet, Matthew Jones, David Dolan, Caroline Palmer and Melissa Phelps. The quartet were finalists in the 2015 St. Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition, and are also recipients of the Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Award. They have performed at venues including Sophie's Barn, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and Wigmore Hall and have given concerts at the City of London Music Festival and for concert societies including the Blenheim Music Circle and Ripley Recitals.
