The Cwizewicz violin duo was launched last year by brothers Michal and Filip Cwizewicz, although they have been playing duos since 1997 when when 13-year-old Michal began teaching 2-year-old Filip how to hold the violin. They are rapidly establishing themselves as a unique ensemble, forging a reputation as exponents of underperformed chamber repertoire. Over the years Filip and Michal have performed various works by Bacewicz, Bach, Górecki, Kreisler, Sarasate, Spohr, Prokofiev, Wieniawski, as well as some of their own arrangements and compositions. Whilst both brothers studied with celebrated violin teachers and developed as classical musicians, their unusual musical upbringing also immersed them in the folk music of Poland and Eastern Europe as well as the different sound-world of the Javanese Gamelan, which they played throughout their youth. Filip Cwizewicz studied at the Purcell School and is now a student at the Royal College of Music. He has performed solo at Wigmore Hall and performed live on BBC Radio 3's ‘In Tune' programme. Michal also studied at the RCM, after gaining a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College. He has performed frequently as recitalist and chamber musician in the UK and abroad, and he has given concerto performances across Europe, to considerable critical acclaim. He now teaches violin at the Royal College of Music.

Aristo Sham is aged 18 and was born in Hong Kong. He now studies at Harrow School with Colin Stone. He has won several major prizes for young pianist, including the 10th Ettlingen International Piano Competition in Germany in 2006, the Gina Bachauer Competition in 2008, and the Minnesota International Competition in 2011. He was featured in the documentary ‘The Greatest Prodigies in the World', broadcast by Channel 4. In 2011 he was awarded a Fellowship with distinction in Piano Performance of the Royal Schools of Music (FRSM), and has been a Young Steinway Artist since July 2012. He also achieved 14A*s in his I/GCSEs.
